A collection of five handwritten letters, 34 handwritten pages, one page of typescript, one receipt, and the remnant of a page with typescript on the recto and handwritten notes on the verso. The letters from Paul-Gustave van Hecke to Emile Langui are dated 1949 through 1953. The 34 undated handwritten pages include two pages describing the outline of a play, two pages with notes for van Hecke's monograph on Frits van den Berghe, and thirty pages of mixed lecture notes, quotes, reflections on artists and literature, and journal fragments. The one-page typescript of the poem "Hoofd en vuist," is dated [July], [19]43. Also included, one receipt from the MuseĢe des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles for the loan of two Magritte paintings in 1959.
